Rajnesh Goundon - General Manager

Rajnesh joined Akarana on the 18th of February 2019. He is an experienced club manager with a demonstrated history of working in the golf industry. Prior to joining Akarana Rajnesh was Golf Club Manager at Tairua Golf & Country Club. His past employments include being Club Manager at Hanmer Springs Golf Club, Director of Golf at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course Fiji, Lecturer in Management at Fiji National University and Golf Operations Supervisor/ Professional at Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, Fiji.

In addition to his experience managing golf clubs, Rajnesh has a Masters of Commerce in Management and Public Administration and an Advanced Certificate in Golf Management. He is currently pursuing the BMI Course program through the Golf Managers Association of NZ and Club Managers Association of America.

A lover of the game of golf, Rajnesh has been a member of the Fiji PGA for over twenty years and enjoys playing golf as often as he can.

Joshua Furniss – Golf Operations Manager

Joshua joined Akarana on 16th May 2024, having been the Operations Manager at Windross Farm Golf Club for the past year. He is originally from Derby, England and for the past 7 years he has didicated his working career to contributing to the thriving golf industry in Auckland. His passion for sports extends beyond just playing golf at professional level, including competing within the CrossFit space. 

Joshua brings with him sound business ethics, a strong empathy towards others and a resonating passion for golf, delighting others and making a difference.

George Flynn - Course Superintendent

George was appointed as Course Superintendent in February  2024. George's career in golf course maintenence spans over 12 years within the turf industry, beginning as apprentice greenkeeper at The Royal Auckland Golf Club where he became a qualified sports turf manager. He then moved on to Pukekohe Golf Club where he held the role of course manager for a few years before being offered the assistant superintendent role at the Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club. 

George has been fortunate enough to volunteer internationally at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass as well as the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship at Royal Melbourbe Golf Club. In 2017 he was awarded the Sports Turf Industry Award with merit. He is an active member of the turf industry and has previously held the role of President of the Auckland Golf Course Superintendents Association. 

Outside of work, George is a family man, plays a bit of golf and is involved in coaching of his sons rugby, cricket and soccer teams.
