| Akarana Golf
Club’s membership is almost always full. It is made
up of Men, Women, Junior, Mid-week and social players. This
popularity is due to the central location of the course, club
facilities, the course itself and most importantly, the friendly
and social atmosphere.
Each month the Executive Committee reviews
the number of members and if there are vacancies, they accept
new members. New members are considered based on their ability
to add to the spirit and social texture of the club as well
as their previous golfing experience. Akarana prides itself
on its contribution to the community and in particular our
pro-active approach to junior golf. Most junior members are
accepted straight into the club if they have some golf experience
or have embarked on a series of lessons. A small number of
men and women members are normally accepted each month.
When applying for membership we ask that
you complete an application form and in your own handwriting
outline why you wish to join Akarana Golf Club, and your previous
golfing experience. This forms a major part of the criteria
for choosing new members. You will also be asked for proof
of New Zealand Citizenship or NZ Permanent Residence and for
recommendations from existing members of Akarana Golf Club

Members Playing Rights
Full Playing Members (including
Women)
At ALL Times the golf course is
OPEN but excluding times the golf committee has set aside
for specific competitions i.e. Men’s day, Womens Day,
Corporate Days and any other event scheduled by the Golf Committee.
Mid-Week Members
Monday to Friday only and excluding public holidays.
Also excluded are times the golf committee has set aside for
specific competitions i.e. Womens Day, Corporate Days and
any other event scheduled by the Golf Committee.
Veteran Men - Have the same
rights as Full Playing Members.
Veteran Women - Have the
same rights as Full Playing Members.
Nine Hole Ladies - Play
Limited to nine holes on Monday: All Day, Tuesday: All Day,
Thursday: Until 12 noon, Friday: 8.24am to 8.42am from the
10th tee only, Sunday: after 3.30pm.
Junior Boys and Girls (under 20)
- At times set aside by the golf committee only.
Student Members - At times
set aside by the golf committee only.
Country Members - Have the
same rights as Full Playing Members.
Honorary Members - Have
the same rights as Full Playing Members.
Permanent Members (closed category)
- Have the same rights as Full Playing Members.
Corporate Members - Have
the same rights as Full Playing Members.
Life Members - Have the
same rights as Full Playing Members.
Social Members or Limited Members
- Have no course use but can pay a Green Fee of $50.00 for
Non Competition Golf.
