Here is Andy’s take on the 11th (old 3rd)

For those you who don’t know me, I am a habitual hooker so the old hole suited me well and was a real favourite. I could set up right of the hole and draw my shot in, and if the draw didn’t work, I’d still have an easy chip onto the green. But with the new hole my “bale out” area is now a lake and although a few miracles wouldn’t go astray on the golf course, I still haven’t worked out a way to walk on water, let alone play out of it! The nett result is that I have to play many of my second shots on this hole from well left of the green, especially when the prevailing wind blows. Needless to say, the 11th is now one of my more challenging holes, which must prove what Arthur always said … that you can’t teach an old hooker new tricks.

Bridge over troubled waters - it will be if you can't sort out your hook!

Albert Toh had this hole dialed in for the 2004 Akarana Club Champs.
