Denis Vazey
Voted most likely to sing at official
Akarana functions, Denis Vazey (some say rhymes with
crazy) has an impressive golfing CV;
1 hole in one, 1 albatross and 5 eagles,
The first hole is a special one for Denis as he's
had 4 eagles when it was hole no.10, and another when
it was no.2. Confused?

"I find no.1 is usually a feast or
a famine. A good tee shot is the key but as many will know,
the first shot of the day often finds the large tree on the
left or potentially the 18th fairway. One down the middle
sees a par as a distinct possibility, a birdie as a good result,
or the best, eagle no.6 for me."As Susan of Herne Bay
says; "One up the middle is worth two in the bush".
"An undemanding hole for those that are straight, but
as in life you will soon be found out if you're crooked and
will have to pay the price".

It looks easy but the first hole can be a round destroyer
if you don't approach it with the proper respect. |

Greenside bunkers penalise wayward second shots but
a birdie is on if you play your cards right. |
